Description: Another perfect use for Adobe
Illustrator is in designing posters where text can be made to really stand
out and become part of the graphic.
A composition was made from a given set of forms that
were traced with the pen tool and arranged on the page to provide a visual
map of what the viewer should look at first, second, and so on. A
compound path was made for the complex forms. Antique colorization
was used to highlight the silent film era.
Assigned text was given for the poster and mainly the
movie title headline had to be readable from a distance and the remaining
text used as a graphic element.
To eliminate the outline from individual letters in the
headline Kaufmann script font, the text was converted to outline form,
and ungrouped. Then the Add to Shape filter in the Pathfinder pallet
was used.
Wrap around, linked type with a visual stand off was used
around Charlie Chaplin to tell the story of the movie and area type within
a non-rectangular shape provides a stunning visual effect for the cast
listing. |
